IGNI is a Tokyo-based multidisciplinary collective established in 2021. We produce a multitude of events that intersect, overlap, and intertwine art, music, and performance - where an authentic presence of participants fully activates the experience. Our goal is to build and grow community, to take part in immersive and highly curated and designed experiences which foster meaningful connections.
These events provide experiences where the atmosphere is inherently intimate, marked by brilliant conviviality. Our audiences recognize and appreciate this rare feature, setting apart our experiences from the abundance of ‘standard’ events. IGNI is an exaltation of uniqueness and diversity; a wakeup call for those who want to get out of the standard circuit, to take active part in events that are stimulating for both the mind and the heart.
The foundation of our collective was initially formed from four different and separate projects based in Tokyo: GALLERY ETHER, Sante Visioni, Fuego, and Lino Ono. The core members - whose backgrounds are complementary to each other - quickly discovered how their unique skill sets and shared values naturally pointed them towards collaboration and soon after began teaming up more and more. Converging in a fully organic way - initially working together without even having the objective of formally forming a collective - IGNI has developed a unique DNA recognized throughout the underground communities of Tokyo. Over the past few years, the collective has attracted and worked with an extremely diverse group of artists, creators, and performers - which take active part in the productions on an ad hoc basis.
Our motto is:
“In girum imus nocte consumimur igni” The moment you understand it, you understand us.
CORE
Formed in Tokyo for the purpose of empowering people to build and enrich the narratives of their own lives, Gallery ETHER is a multimedia contemporary art space, dedicated to providing both known and emerging artists with the means through which they can showcase their artistic visions and explorations.
It is our continued mission to serve as a conduit in connecting artists and audiences with one another to cultivate the ongoing conversations that art continually inspires.
From Florence, Italy and now based in Tokyo, multimedia artist Sante Visioni's main research mainly focuses on the concept of 'balance'. Investigating the tension between opposite forces, he explores how such contrasts can be used to express our inner feelings.
While keeping this at the core of his production, he aims at providing immersive experiences which go beyond the pure visual display. Strongly believing in the power of mutual influence, he pursues projects and collaborations with other artists, fostering the community to delve into hybrid outcomes.
Connecting together artists and participants through ideas, passion, projects, and chaos.
Encouraging everyone to push the limits of self expressionthrough any and all forms of art the aim is to create and explore alternate realities; sensory driven atmospheres of experimentation through tailored experiential performances of immersive and interactive art, exhibition, and free space.
Fuego Society is an underground collective of humans from diverse backgrounds spanning multiple countries and disciplines that collaborate with select artists and spaces now in the heart of Tokyo.
